Make use of the Dell Park during Children’s Mental Health Week

Friends of the Dell Park Chepstow (FDPC) are asking parents and children to think about making use of the Dell Park during Children’s Mental Health Week.

This year, Children’s Mental Health Week, which runs from 1 – 7 February, is themed around ‘Express Yourself’.

Expressing yourself is about finding ways to share feelings, thoughts, or ideas, through creativity. This could be through art, music, writing and poetry, dance and drama, photography and film, and doing activities that make you feel good.

It’s important to remember that being able to express yourself is not about being the best at something or putting on a performance for others. It is about finding a way to show who you are, and how you see the world, that can help you feel good about yourself.

FDPC think that the park offers the perfect backdrop (for children and adults alike!) to take some time out. From finding a quiet spot to sit and reflect, to a space to dance and let off steam!

Spending time outdoors can have great benefits for mental wellbeing – something we should all particuarly be mindful of while in lockdown*.
