As we begin a new year it’s a time to reflect on the progress that’s been made in 2021 and look to the future for our ambitious plans for the Dell.
At our Annual General Meeting, held on Monday 10 January, it was a great opportunity for the team to come together (albeit virtually!).
Aside from AGM formalities we spent some of the meeting sharing our highlights from the FDPC year. These included:
The relationships we have forged and the continued support we receive from organisations such as Monmouthshire County Council, CADW and Chepstow Town Council (big thanks goes out to them!)
Having the necessary materials and information gathered ready to make an application for lottery funding
The successful stakeholder drop-in event held in September
The development of a project plan to keep us on track (hopefully!)
As Chair of the group I have been really heartened by everyone’s persistence and resilience – juggling personal commitments and the ongoing curve ball that is Covid – time has still been found to keep pushing forward with our plans for the Dell and I can’t thank the group enough. I feel proud of what FDPC has achieved to date and excited for what I know we will accomplish so very soon!
As well as taking stock we of course also looked ahead to our priorities for 2022. A key next step for our group is to obtain Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) status – something that will be crucial for future fundraising efforts. And, of course, submitting the all-important application for lottery funding which would mean that the phase one development of the park could get underway.
Here’s to a brilliant 2022 and continuing our progress towards transforming the Dell into a destination park for Chepstow.
Thanks for reading,
Vicky
