2026 AGM update

We held our annual general meeting last week, and are pleased to share a few key updates...

As a group, we remain fully committed to delivering this project in partnership with Monmouthshire County Council and Chepstow Town Council.

We are delighted to confirm that our core team will continue in their existing roles, providing that all-important consistency as we start to move through the delivery stage.

We have always known this would be a long-term project and, with the complexities of lease agreements, being in a historic setting, securing funding and unexpected curve balls (or should that be curved walls!) it has taken longer than anyone could have anticipated.

That said, things are very much moving in the right direction. The final pieces of equipment are now on order, and works are still due to begin on site this spring. We can’t wait to see spades in the ground, and we know the whole community will share our sense of relief as the new play area begins to take shape.

Alongside the build phase, community engagement and fundraising will be a key area of focus for us over the coming months. We’re looking forward to being part of the upcoming Wig Gig, (no we won’t be singing!) but we will be there to share details of the park progress and have some fun activities for all the family to get involved with.

As always, thank you to everyone who continues to support the project. We would also like to give a special mention and message of thanks to Meryl Slaymaker and members of the former Chepstow Junior Netball Club. Sadly the club closed a few years ago but the group agreed to donate their remaining funds of £377.95 towards the park, seeing it as a cause that will be of lasting benefit for the children of Chepstow.

The transformation of the Dell is getting closer, and we can’t wait to see the space come to life for families, residents and visitors to enjoy.
